What is Chrome OS?
This is how Chrome OS will look like. A complete web-based operating system.
Chrome OS is Google’s own desktop operating system. It is a full-service OS unlike Android and is a contender of Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X. Although Chrome OS is based on Linux, the OS by itself will not be available for download and install. Google plans to ship the OS only with specific hardware and has tied up with only limited manufacturers. All applications in Chrome OS will be browser based, and therefore will most likely be only web-based applications. The OS will be 100% web-centric unlike any other platforms in the market. The target audience is mostly people who spend most of their time on the internet.
A typical window in Chrome OS will look like the following:

The corner of a typical Chrome OS window as compared to that of Microsoft Windows XP and Office 2007. It will probably not have any shadow effect.
